The Best Places to Meet Single Women in Cebu, Philippines
Cebu, consisting of a main island and one-hundred and sixty-seven surrounding islands and islets, is a province of the Philippines located in the Central Visayas region. Its capital, Cebu City, is the oldest city (and first capital) of the Philippines. Hailed as the “Queen City of the South,”, the city is, by and large, the trade and industry hub of the Visayas. Cebu's history is just as fascinating as its prosperous economy, and the people who live there are much the same! For those who live in this vibrant city and are hoping to start dating, it's likely that you'll meet lots of intriguing and fun people including single women looking for dating opportunities.

A perfect destination that bears testimony to this, is the historic Carcel de Cebu (known today as the Museo Sugbo). Located just along M.J Cuenco Avenue, Museo Sugbo is a facility that (ordinarily) wouldn’t be mistaken for a museum. Surrounded by unsightly structures from the remnants of a time long past, the museum (known commonly to locals as the old Cebu Provincial Jail) was once a prison. It was built in the year 1871 and was originally intended to be the main prison for the Visayas. Today, however, this excellent museum comprises several galleries in a sturdy, coral-stone building open to all, with rooms dedicated to eras in Cebu's history. The American-era gallery contains a fascinating and expensive collection of letters and memorabilia from Thomas Sharpe (one of 1065 teachers known as Thomasites who arrived in the early days of the American period to fulfill President McKinley's pledge to 'educate the Filipinos').Upstairs, a World War II gallery contains an American bomb that was dropped in Cebu, a host of Japanese propaganda newspapers, and a Purple Heart and Bronze Star earned by Uldrico Cabahug.
No doubt the museum is the perfect place to meet other history enthusiasts; and, if a woman happens to capture your attention, why not introduce yourself? It really is as easy as extending a hand, smiling, and stating your name! To keep the conversation going, why not ask out about her favorite exhibit, favorite time in history, or maybe even discuss your own! If the two of you hit things off, why not consider taking her for a coffee? There's a cafe and a gift shop in the museum compound; so, really, no need to walk very far.
If you’re a connoisseur of special brews, you might be tempted to visit the Little Piece of Sky Café. Besides their broad range of frappes and coffee blends, the ALPS Café will take you to heaven with their mouth-watering pasta and desserts. They also serve milk teas, smoothies, milkshakes and other refreshments. The atmosphere of the café is relaxing and tranquil; making it a hotspot frequented by book-lovers and college students (and, by extension, making it ideal for reading or meeting new people). Why not saddle up to someone at a communal table? If you see them reading a book, ask them about the author, or ask them how they're enjoying the book so far. ALPS is somewhat difficult to find because it is behind a parking lot. But if you manage to find it, and you manage to spark conversation with someone, the search will surely have been worth it!
If you are the outdoorsy type, and you’re not afraid to get a bit sweaty, one of the many must-visit hidden gems scattered throughout Cebu, is Ka-Tinggo Falls. Located in the sleepy town of Catmon (a town in northern Cebu that’s less than two hours away from the city) this secluded waterfall is only known to locals and a few wandering adventurers. Once you’ve reached your destination, rejoice! The waterfall is a great place for jumps and dives, as well as taking a couple awesome Instagram shots. The water is also home to tilapia, so you can try your luck at catching your own lunch. An attraction leading to the waterfall is a hanging bridge that’s suspended over flowing water. This pathway usually has a small number of pedestrians at any given moment of the day. If you want to visit the waterfall but can’t swim, the locals can let you rent a life vest, or even escort you through the trek. This means that you might just travel with someone who ends up being more than a guide, or travel in a group of people.
If you’re still yearning for a heavy dose of thrill and adventure, why not drop by Cebu's ultimate adventure park? The Danasan Eco Adventure Park will not only quench your thirst for thrill rides and adventure, but it will also sweep you away with its refreshing mountain scenery. Besides that, this place is practically bursting with people, so there is no shortage of women to meet. Whether you’re dreading going on a certain ride; or would just like the company, don’t hesitate to ask other park-goers to join you. (Hint: A smile is a great motivator!)
Perhaps all the excitement of Cebu is wearing you down, though. If you’re looking for a more casual setting, you could retreat to the Alex Kafe. This hole-in-the-wall cafe is found in Argao, a town in southern Cebu, and offers a number of local and international. Try their Humba (a dish made with pork stewed in soy sauce) or, better yet, their special Humbatchoy (a noodle dish with pork broth). Not only does the café offer great food and atmosphere, but it also serves as a pre and post WWII memorabilia gallery.
There is no doubt that Cebu is a city abundant with interesting places, interesting people, and an interesting history! Connect with women by being friendly, adventurous, and confident. A smile and an introduction can really go a long way. Jumping into the dating game can seem like an intimidating endeavour, but it's not as scary as you might think. The worst that can happen is that someone won't be interested in you. When that happens, brush it off and move on, until you find someone who is interested.
