Can Gonorrhea Go Away on Its Own?
Gonorrhea is asymptomatic in a great number of infected people. If symptoms do show up they might be mild and confused with those of other conditions. It is possible for a person to become infected with gonorrhea and have symptoms that clear up or diminish on their own over time. This does not mean that the person has been cured or that the infection has gone away. The bacterium that causes gonorrhea will remain in the organism until a full course of prescribed antibiotics has been taken. Antibiotic treatment is the only known cure for gonorrhea.
