Matchmaking service helps young professionals find perfect partner

New York, June 7(ANI): A 24-year-old Brooklyn resident launched a matchmaking service to help fellow New Yorkers find romance, without the hassle of dating websites.

Lauren Kay, founder of The Dating Ring, is offering successful, young professionals an alternative to the secrecy and impersonality of sites like OKCupid and Match.com.

She told the New York daily News that online dating takes a lot of time and she wants to help people who have very busy lives.

Kay has made nearly 200 members simply from word of mouth and has also got her first match.

Ariana, who met her boyfriend through a date Kay arranged, said that she can read people really well and could understand the person she was interested in.

Arina added that she screens love-seekers usually four to six at a time at a bar in the lower East Side, after they fill out an online survey.

Kay grills them on family life, work history, and where they went to school many of her clients have Ivy League pedigree, but it's not required.

She revealed that the fun part is getting into their dating history.

If she finds a great match, Kay sets up a one-on-one date. But more often, she picks six people who might click and sends them on a group date, usually at a bar.

Kay expects to have between 1,000 and 3,000 members in the next year.

She is also looking for investors and to launch nationwide. (ANI)
