How your name determines your wedding gift preference
London, Aug 15 (ANI): A new study has found that preferences for wedding gifts could be put down to names.
Department store John Lewis revealed the findings after examining gift lists for the 10 names most frequently registered with its service.
They noticed the number of times different items were included in those lists and came up with the conclusions.
They found that whereas the Joneses flood their list with requests for glassware, the Thompsons prefer high-tech kitchenware and gadgetry.
Meanwhile, the Smiths opt for formal dining-knife sets, with the findings suggesting that four of the 15 most popular products on their wedding lists included this item.
"It's really interesting to see how much your surname reveals about your specific tastes,' said a spokesperson for the store," the Daily Mail quoted a spokesperson for John Lewis as saying.
"John Lewis collected data from thousands of lists - no customers can be identified from this information.
"Tableware is consistently a popular choice, but we are also seeing a resurgence in bakeware, suggesting that newlyweds are keen to revert to the 1950s trend of home cooking and baking," the spokesperson added.
Following are the gifts and names most commonly associated with each other:
JONES - glassware
THOMPSON - high-tech kitchenware and gadgets
SMITH - formal dining and knife sets
BROWN - kitchenware
EVANS - interior design items
THOMAS - mix of kitchen, bedroom and lounge products. (ANI)
