Can You Get Herpes From Sharing Food?
Herpes is considered an infectious disease and a sexually transmitted disease, usually resulting from close contact and sexual intercourse. To be infected with herpes virus, you need to have close contact with the skin of an infected individual, or the fluid that fills herpes blisters in one of the earliest manifestations. Indirect contact is only possible when this fluid, which is very contagious, travels from one place to another in a short period of time, which can happen if you share your lipstick, but not if you share food. Thus, it is not possible to get herpes by sharing foods or drinks.
